I have this one up for sale currently. You can also download the rom hack, too! It’s pretty darn great! They added in a bunch of the cut content for the censors and it really brings it back to a better spot. Give it a shot!

I was literally thinking a PICO hooked up to one of those TF card to analog output adapters.

You’d need to take advantage of that audio line tho on the extended cartridge connector.

Oh and the component identifiers should also be in GOLD ENIG coloration. Not silkscreened in white or black or whatever.

Oh and in case you wanted to know what the MASKROM should look like, it shouldn’t ever have a window like this one. All MASKROMs are OTP (one time programmed), not UV Erasable. Sometimes these windows have a little piece of black tape over them.

Only times you see UVPROMs is in very special cases.

and lastly:

11. DOES IT LOOK LIKE IT’S THIRTY+ YEARS OLD?

Should have some signs of aging like dust, maybe some grime or stains, worn connectors, maybe a smell like it’s been stored in a kid’s bedroom closet for years.

I had one I got that was stored in a barn and smelled of manure.

Also:

9. Is the Nintendo logo with copyright and year as well as board revision in same ENIG gold style as cartridge connectors?

10. Are all chips, traces, revision, and component identifiers in the correct spots? Double check on snescentral.com for exact match (and types of boards used).

Replaced battery? Typical replacement batteries are yellow jacketed or socketed, OEM ones do not have any yellow jacket and were never socketed. That’s not always a 100% hard and fast rule but it’s super common to see yellow jackets or sockets for replacement batteries.

Also additional verification steps:

6. Does the cartridge have security screws? (Not molded-in plastic, not Phillips head).

7. Does the back label have a stamped number on it indicating week of production?

8. Does the MASKROM chip have all its legs connected to the circuit board?

Check it!

Correction: the last picture is not an original board. It has original SRAM and CIC lockout chip, but the rest is all brand new componentry.

These boards are authentic N64 games. I also sold a bunch of these but you can clearly see no modifications to the boards. They are authentic original OEMs. They have no been modified. They haven’t even had batteries replaced. They are not repos.

These PCBs clearly have modified components. They are original boards but not original components. They have MASKROM adapters installed in place of the ROM chip. They are repos. These are what I sell.
