In 2020, a student of mine wrote this to me after George Floyd was murdered by Derek Chauvin (who some are trying to get trump to pardon now). I think this was when I couldn’t stay quiet. White discomfort is not more important than ending allowing a country where black and brown kids feel this way

The goal now should be to get every Republican official to have to make their red lines clear. How much are they willing to back? Doesn’t matter how small the position, this stuff is going to affect your local hometown too.

Call and email EVERY Republican politician in your area and ask them if they want to back white supremacy at the top of their party or if they want to be there for all their constituents. Emailed my mayor. He didn’t like it.
