The Living Mountain: I was drawn to this book because it is read by Tilda Swinton and it is just a joy to hear Tilda talking about mountains. This is my gentle book for when I can’t handle big ideas, but the book isn’t necessarily surface level, just more dreamy and prose like

Last Days At Hot Slit: probably the most impactful out of all these books for me. Brutal but necessary look at the way women are treated under patriarchy. While hard to hear at times I rly appreciate the way Andrea Dworkin doesn’t shy away from the brutality that is existing as a women

Technofeudalism: one of those books for me where I have to wade through parts where I’m not sure what they r talking about to get to the golden moments. I get a feeling that having a foundational knowledge of communism and capitalism criticism would help understand the language a bit better

Come as you are: a lot of rly good information on genitals and sex, rly succeeds in normalising the “strangeness” of sex and better understanding bodies, my own and others.
While they do seem to be trying to be trans inclusive, there are times I feel a bit uncomfy, that’s my only complaint so far

But yeh all in all in terms of hearing the Papuan perspectives and evidence to do with the bombing of their villages and exposing the atrocities Indonesia is committing and Australia supporting. It was pretty good

The doco kind of takes this like “why would Indonesia do this” as if it’s some hidden mystery. But do a bit of digging it’s pretty clear why Indonesia is doing it

This is defs worth a watch, a lot of it is rly good, there are some things that are wrong with it, particularly the failure to mention Indonesia’s motivations of clearing Papua communities so that they can be mined for resources
