As someone who started with EoSD, calling Locked Girl "Patchouli music" resonates with me on the emotional level

Mm, no.

It's an attractive idea; a good one, even. But for anyone who is constantly short on time, I would suggest reading into the opinions of other people to prevent yourself from either disrupting your occupational life or amassing a behemoth backlog that discourages you to engage media at all.

That's fair. Trying to figure out what went wrong with Twitter, I thought it might have been the lack of demonstrative respect. I promise it was meant in good faith.

Thanks for sharing, Colin. I find you valid, and while I disagree with you on a few points, it wasn't really your job to persuade me, so it's all love. Do you mind if I share some thoughts on that?

Oh hey Roxy. Of course cis people like you!

With all due respect, Roxanne the Wolf, you verbally harass small children for getting lost in pizzerias. I think you're unlikable by people overall.

Grace over guilt.

I could never mind your penis, Roxy ^^

"Think with your dick" and "Mind the penis" are technically synonyms

Eh, I disagree. She didn't write this, her staff did. Probably a light-hearted joke, and in that case I think it's awesome that she was willing to let them push her so far out of her box.

It means instead of getting defensive and spouting some irrelevant dogma or prejudice so that the equally-horrible Twitter atheists could dunk on you, you gave an alternate take that was more charitable to your faith without warping the original message. I appreciate that from you.

Hello Yuriki :D

This is why many sites have dislike buttons. That's problematic as well, but I prefer it. Twitter is a game of inflammation & rage, and that's why people hated it even before Musk. YT & Reddit might silence a few well-meaning contrarians, but shoot, at least their top comments are actually valuable.

I don't think they're wrong to do that when they do it in terms of associations; "Therefore I will assume that an interest in buying coffee positively predicts an interest in supporting Fair Trade, but the present data does not offer a conclusion." That's what I usually l see researchers do.

Haha, no problem, just stewing in the consequences of my actions. College things... Anyway, I like the sound of that. Actually, I really like the sound of that! As a free response, it's exact to the participant's belief, and it gives you more to think about while you write the discussion section.

I personally can't begin to think up a way of how you would assess the validity of reported intent on a self-report, but someone more not-awake-at-4am-on-a-weekday probably could.

Assume multiple possible motives? Absolutely! Ask people what they are trying to do and why? It's a fair idea, but how can we be sure that the people understand the motives behind their behavior well enough to answer accurately?

And when I am dissatisfied, I am never dissatisfied for long. It's like falling asleep. You close your eyes knowing you're not tired, and it's nothing but a nuisance, until you wake up tomorrow on time, fully rested, and rejoice.
