Party of limited government strikes again this week with:
-Limiting free speech of critics (Cancelling Jimmy Kimmel)
-Weaponizing the DOJ against political opponents (post to Bondi asking to target Schiff, James, Comey)
-Intervening in labor market (selective H1B visa fees)

I have no solution to this, but it is clear that social media is poisoning our society. Charlie Kirk grew his following by purposely being controversial. It is disgusting people have turned to political violence, but this will continue as long as hate and blind partisan loyalty is rewarded.

Charlie Kirk is like George Floyd - both should not be dead, it is a disgrace they were killed, but I will not pretend that they were great, upstanding people - these two issues can be separate.

I pray that this assassination changes the way Americans treat politics. We have become hyperpartisan and extreme, too many see the other side as the enemies of the country. I, however, am extremely skeptical this will happen - Despite Giffords, Scalisce, Hortman, we have grown even more apart.

A Republican President is currently abusing emergency powers to raise taxes on Americans. While doing so, he is hurting businesses (big and small) and destroying the stock market. His fellow Republicans are cheering him on. This is not the party of limited government or economic growth, it's a joke.

I am glad there is an emphasis in this administration on saving taxpayer dollars w/ DOGE, but this week shows that Musk is 100% the wrong man for the job. Cutting expenses without drastic changes is a non-sexy, unglamorous job - so Musk is instead making huge, drastic cuts that will harm us

An under discussed part of the rise of social media is the powerlessness people feel when they are tiny, tiny, tiny participants in national conversations.

If Senator Mullin is aware of Senators coming in to work drunk, he has a duty to the people of this country to tell us this. It is absolutely unacceptable behavior he claims happens all the time. He, of course, won't release this info as he just made this claim up.

Decades of policies have made it illegal to build housing in the safest parts of housing—and pulled hundreds of thousands of families into the path of worsening wildfires. My latest today in @theatlantic.com: www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

The disaster can teach California how to rebuild, if the state will listen.
