My guess is a mix of two things, cost and custom components. Data centers on land use mostly "off the shelf" pars, specially for infrastructure. If they're still working on it, it's on streamlining the building process. My other guess is that they applied what they learned to the land based ones.

But but... International waters (?) Like it is technically true that a government could with a lot of resources try to tamper with your submerged datacenter, but for all practical purposes the best they can do is kill it... Which is also true for datacenters in space

Combinatorics proofs always look magic to me, like "look if we count these things this way and this other way, we can suddenly prove these two seemingly unrelated objects are the same in some sense". Like yeah sure, but wtf. There's a reason some friends called combinatorics "extreme counting".

Looking around I thought that something like 'from_bytes_unchecked' would've existed, but it seems only OsStr has it and it isn't const. Maybe this could be a simple RFC(?)
