That may be true (re infrastructure and fund-raising), but it seems like it wouldn't be an overwhelming advantage in a small, low-population state like Maine. It shouldn't take a ton of money for an outsider to run a competitive primary campaign there, especially if he's smart about it.

I got the Collins Guide 2nd ed, the Susan Myers Bird Names book that I only have in a .pdf, and three guides to Caribbean birds that more or less give me complete bird coverage of the western hemisphere.

I referee a lot of High School soccer games and this has always been very common, especially on narrow fields. Every team always seems to have one kid who can bomb it. I'm surprised it took so long for the pros to catch on.

I am generally optimistic because of the way birding is presented in the source book, but the absolutely spotless outdoor clothes and the bizarro army surplus style binoculars are concerning.
