I’m tired of “this doesn’t make sense” in describing the regime. Heard it on @maddow.bsky.social the other night too. It makes sense when you accept the frame that a dictator wants to exert power and project an outdated image of strength. But the media (even on the left!) still won’t say that.

My daughter is in 3rd grade and they are teaching her this. I was replying to someone online yesterday and she asked me how I know he’s real. Great conversation. This might not be national policy but educators recognize it as a need.
