Thinking of purchasing some home weather equipment and participating in the Weather Underground with it. Would this be relevant or even advisable given today's climate of dismissals in the NWS? @heatwavekgns.bsky.social

Unusual visitor for these parts. I think it to be a Great Kiskadee.

As an American living abroad, I found this quite refreshing. It was such a nice thing to witness.

Hospital staff serving coffee, tea, sandwiches, and biscuits to patients in the emergency room at 2:45 am. They wanted everyone to be comfortable since the average wait time was 7 hours.

Hey, it’s KGNS-TV’s birthday! 69 years ago today, they turned on their transmitters for the first time. And guess what? They’re still going strong, just like they were back then! @heatwavekgns.bsky.social

A repurposed HP 30B flashed with the WP 34S software. Overlay and key stickers emulates other HP calculators of days gone by. Really nice example of collaboration and repurposing existing hardware. Going to replace a couple of HPs I have on my desk. @heatwavekgns.bsky.social

USPS delivery vehicle in San Antonio, TX yesterday in a cloud of white smoke. Dry ice package ruptured or radiator overheating or Cheech and Chong now delivering your Amazon Packages? #memes

You have to admire these young kids helping direct traffic after the devastation of infrastructure due to the 1985 Mexico City earthquake. They reminded me of matadors when I first saw them there. Admirable - I wonder what they're doing now.
