All Natural Lemon & Lime Flavors - Turning Into Small (Gern Blandsten 1999). Like a mix between Stereolab and several early showcase bands. “Emergency Turn Off” and “Paradigm Somehow” are two of the best songs I heard in 2024

The Pastels & Tenniscoats - Two Sunsets (Domino 2009). Really great. Promo edition? Maybe retail edition has a lyric booklet, mine just has one sheet with this nice story on the inside. Back lists track 1 “tokyo glasgow” as “so many stars” and leaves the “so we sound like a loch” off “start slowly”

Juana Molina ∩ Alejandro Franov – A∩B (2003). Released between Juana’s albums Tres Cosas and Son. 2xMini-CD “lost album” in a canvas (burlap?) case. Measures shorter than my other mini CDs at 5.5”x 3.5” instead of the 6.5” I usually see. Side B lists a 6th track but only includes 5 songs. 406/500

Little details on these mini CDs seem precious and easter-eggy. Like the little egg carton next to the fishmans logo or the circle of ram slippers or the little coffee mugs on the Another Morning disc

And the 8cm CDs. Love the packaging of these. Some of the gatefolds are made on nicer textured paper, and there was usually some fun theme running throughout like the pillows’ glasses fogged up by coffee steam or throwing frisbee or the ram slippers or fishmans in the chef outfits

My collection of promo and single CDs! These all come in slim cases rather than standard jewel cases. My favorite thing about them is they have a clear back so you can flip the CD to show the display side. They may come packaged that way, I forget. I may post about some of these in-depth sometime.

CDs without titles on the spine are fishmans - long season, gastr del sol - the harp factory on lake street, kukangendai - live, ooioo self-titled, and tricot - bakuretsu tricot san + repeat eps. Tapes = kukangendai - reverse, liv.e - couldn’t wait to tell you, nina - aether
