Hats off to whichever member(s) of the @letterboxd.social team that came up with the Mission Impossible message after posting a MI review. Very clever!

Film no. 20 was Thunderbolts*. I am no Marvel fan but the trailer appealed. Florence Pugh is the highlight, but it was fun to see Julia Louis-Dreyfus in a full cinematic role. I started to lose interest in the final quarter, but this is a strong 2/5, which should mean Marvel fans think it's great.

Time for a new city! LHR to IST w/ BA. Heathrow a bit chaotic today, have had better experiences.

Film no. 19 was The Accountant 2. An entertaining Hollywood action film, with a few laughs throw in as well. Runs a little too long, but aside from that I enjoyed this. 3/5

Film no. 18 was Drop. I enjoyed this thriller, although clearly silly in a few places. I am always impressed when filmmakers can hold your attention for 90 minutes in one location. 3/5!

Film no.17 was Death of a Unicorn. Mental and gory, but with a great cast who pull this off spectacularly. Fully expect the film to become a cult classic. A 3/5 from me.
April 8, 2025 at 11:30 PM
Film no. 16 was A Working Man. Jason Statham does what Jason Statham does best, although it's not the best of his films, but you know you're getting entertaining rubbish. 2/5
April 1, 2025 at 11:02 PM
Film no. 15 was Novocaine. A rom-com-action-gore combo. I had to look away several times, but I enjoyed this more than I thought would! 3/5
March 31, 2025 at 6:16 PM
Film no. 14 was Disney's Snow White. On paper, with the cast and crew involved, a sure-fire hit. In reality it never gels and just doesn't work. Sadly only 2/5.

Film no. 13 was Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamond in the Desert. Great to see the energy of amazing musicians on the stage up close. The interviews worked less well for me. Some were interesting and I would like to have seen more (Nolan) but they didn't tell you much and just interrupted the music. 3/5

Film no. 12 was Last Breath. The trailer makes it look like a big Hollywood film, but it is much more UK indie than that and good for it. The tension is high and story unbelievable (were it not true). Well worth watching. 4/5
March 25, 2025 at 8:58 AM
Film no. 11 was Black Bag. I had high hopes that weren't met. Can't really explain why it wasn't better. With an amazing cast, crew and writer this had the potential to be more than 3/5.
March 25, 2025 at 8:55 AM
Film no. 10 was Mickey 17, which was just bonkers. It did hold my attention though, despite it flaws and madness. 3/5
March 14, 2025 at 3:49 PM
Film no. 9 was a 25th Anniversary screening of Erin Brockovich. Hugely enjoyable with a top performance from Julia Roberts and a wonderful score from Thomas Newman. 4/5
March 10, 2025 at 11:14 PM
Film no. 8 was #DogMan, not something I expected to see, but there is so little else on this appealed and I wasn't wrong. Great animation with good voice work. It moves fast and I enjoyed the score. The story is silly but, despite there being jokes for the grownups, this is a movie for the kids. 3/5
February 27, 2025 at 12:49 AM
Film no. 7 was #BridgetJones Mad About The Boy. The film delivers plenty of laughs and is fun from start to finish. Great to see the cinema so busy, and laughing! 4/5

Time for LHR to GOT with BA. #weekendaway
February 14, 2025 at 3:51 PM
Film no. 6 was #September5th. Solid performances and the script keeps the action going, but I was expecting more tension and some more scenes outside the studio. Good, but only 3/5 good.
February 11, 2025 at 11:53 PM
Film no. 5 was Mel Gibson's #FlightRisk. Tightly paced and enjoyable tension. Fun to see a film working with a small cast in, essentially, one location. Worth a watch and great to see Mark Wahlberg playing against type. 3/5 #BGFilms2025

Gutted that my favourite film of 2024, #Kneecap, was missed from this category! 😢 #Oscars
Going global with this year’s nominees for International Feature Film. #Oscars

Film no. 4 was #ARealPain. I love road movies (which this is, to an extent) and I love Poland, so I was keen. Ultimately I chuckled often, but thought the story didn't really go anywhere, but maybe that was the point. The highlight of the film was the great use of Chopin's music. 3/5 #BGFilms2025
