If you have any kind of pc you can get a cheap external usb optical drive. I've seen dvd drives go for around $20

ALCOM is an alternative to vrc cc that works on linux, but you can also still download the installer package on the vrcfury website.

Changing hair color is done through animating the hue shift on your hair's shader, there's lots of tutorials on that on youtube.

They've gone up a bit, but not as dramatic as ram prices. If you're not worried about performance as much you can probably find a good deal.

Enhancer for youtube offered this before the yt adblock purge, no idea if it still works.

Can't wait for the level where you have to beat dark souls with keyboard controls

If you get too close to the other person a holy barrier gets in the way and knocks you back

It's dumb how the vr mode is exclusive to ps5, but yeah that makes sense why you'd choose that then. I hope you enjoy your time in vr!

Quest 3 is the current headset meta (no pun intended), but i expect that to change with the release of the steam frame. Psvr2 has it's place as a cheap headset with interesting features if you're willing to tinker with comunity software.

Fresnel lenses mean that you have less of a sweet spot compared to pancake lenses on the quest 3 + other general fresnel lense downsides but automatic ipd adjustment mitigates this. There's pros and cons compared to quest 3, but if you can get it for cheaper it can be worth it.

There's 3rd party software that enables the eye tracking, and from what i hear the oled panels are beautiful with good contrast -some mura artifacting. Some bluetooth adaptors don't work well with the controllers, you might need a new one.

Damn this is a pretty shot!

Or you'll get kicked just because one of your friends said something some random mod didn't like
There's a group or two I'm banned from and I have no idea why.

If you have decently modern hardware it should run fine but I was having these weird black distortions in hair at first. My gut is to blame TAA but people on reddit say turning post processing to low fixes it.

Hope you have a magnetic charger so you don't kill your port! That or an L shaped connector with the cable velcroed to the headstrap might help...

If you have a good pc already you can get cheap pcvr headsets on ebay. PSVR2 is usually a good deal and you can find them barely used + there's 3rd party support that enables the eye tracking.

Made a scuffed cheatsheet with this steam guide and mspaint with what I consider to be the essentials. Could be better but at least I have something now.

All the menus are the same, just some of the keybinds are different. There's guides out there that list all the desktop keybinds, but this makes me think there should be a cheat sheet on a print I can hand out to new deskies...

It's not the most readable UI but a lot of veterans will be happy to walk you through it, gives you a conversation starter as well.
