--that you yourself points out directly funds potential threats not just information warfare. All banning one app did was make the people on that app go to an arguably worse one that has propaganda running around on it that will affect how some of them think. Its worse than if they did nothing.

True I think we are on the same page on most of this. But my train of thought is more. Why ban just tik tok? Why 1 app? There are hundreds of apps that sell data to China not under us requirements to put in their tos they sell. Why not ban all Chinese apps like genshin--

Sorry not trying to be rude or anything. The China problem is a problem we agree on that.
I just think the problems here in our own country are bigger at the moment, and unless we fix those we'd have no hope against external threats of the future.

--of say visa trying to censor people's creative freedoms and telling people what they can or can not spend their own money on. Allowing any business that much power is a bigger concern than China finding out how many doujins I read.

Our own government lies to our faces is increasing the poverty amount drastically every year. Does nothing about unemployment, inflation, or any issues that actually matter. Like this tik tok being 1 of hundreds of apps that sell data to China. OK what about the bigger problem--

Maybe but I think people are making mountains out of mole hills. Why does nuclear research mean evil and threats. Nuclear research also includes better safer forms of power but every defaults to wmds. Personally I think the problems that are in our own country is the biggest concern.

Not at all trying to sing china's praises but if they were going to do anything they would have by now which means they either can't or don't want to. Or even if they can and do want to are too incompetent to have attacked us while we were already down (last 10 years).

China can't even control its own population I'm not too afraid of their desires for world domination. Besides they aren't alone other cultures hate us more than China. China at least is more than willing to sell and trade with us.

Its because the government claims China is harvesting our data through it. Ignoring completely that our own government does that to us in other apps like Twitter and all these apps sell our data to anyone buying which includes China. Id say that makes it pointless.

I was just about to say something similar when I saw this. I agree addiction is a problem but many people aren't addicted it was just a pleasant part of your life that's gone for literally no reason.

I think its because our generation was raised on the "its rude to not give gifts", "its better to give than receive", and "it doesn't matter what it is, it's the thought that counts" combo. But thats boomer logic. Millennials think and feel differently. We want practicality.

I saw a couple episodes back when it was first airing (back when I used to watch things week to week) but I just never got around to finishing it. But I feel you on the slump thing, lately I've only been able to rewatch the same 5 shows if I'm watching anime at all.
