Happy October 3rd, everyone! As someone who adores Fullmetal Alchemist and Mean Girls, this is a day I've been looking forward to all year.

This is based on true events (albeit with a great deal of exaggeration).

I learned recently that between D&D, Pathfinder, and Daggerheart, all three of them have playable frog people. I'd like to imagine that one villain players could face is an evil frog person who is not really a person at all.

I also decided to make it a #VicInVictoria comic this week; I've been annoyed with YouTube's oversaturation of ads; they even have ads that play in the middle of livestreams now if you would believe it!

This sketch is based on a dream imagery had, which has led me to an epiphany that has recently helped me regain my own sense of Self.

A heavily stylized sketch of a dream imagery had. In that dream, I was surrounded by people connected to each other by arteries, a macabre twist on the "red strings of fate" idea. I, alone and not connected to anyone else, decide to let go and fall into a dark abyss. A light shines within me, radiating out into that darkness. Though everyone else is connected to each other by those red strings of fate, and though there is no one else with a free string for me to latch onto, I felt peaceful with only the light I have within me, light that reassures me that I do have my own sense of Self.

I didn't particularly like that album.

Yeah, things are happening in my life that's making me contemplate where I have been and where I'm even going.
A treasure map that describes a typical path through a human life that follows a path: 1) From birth, there is a twist and a turn to childhood. 2) From childhood, it leads to adolescence. 3) The path to the teen years twists and turns in an almost directionless motion before it branches off into two directions toward adulthood. 4)Adulthood has several branching paths, some longer than others. They all lead to an area where treasure might be. 5) After treasure, it is a straight path to death. Of note is that "Treasure" with a question mark is located at the bottom right corner of the map, which is torn off. It is unknown whether or not anyone can find their way to treasure or if they could recognize it when they encounter it.

This week's #PostItNoteArt #ArtChallenge prompt is to draw a scene from my last D&D session, where my character Elzinar (Drow Artificer) finds a kindred spirit in Blek, a Kobald Rogue, who also escaped from underground. Finch, an Elf Ranger, is flustered by Elzinar's surface-world faux-pas.
Elzinar (Drow Artificer in goggles), books Blek (Kobald Rogue) on the snout. "Oh! You're a Kobold!" Elzinar says. In the background, Finch (Elf Ranger) raises her arms and screams in secondhand embarrassment. She yells, "Elzinar! It's racist to call people by their race!" Blek doesn't mind, though; he has a slight curve to his mouth, implying a smile.

I've been getting into TTRPGs as of late, so I've been playing around with the idea of setting that's "Blade Runner" but fantasy: Simulacra Saga.

I made an egg and ham sandwich, which turned out deliciously, but I might have to adjust the settings to my air fryer to get the egg yolk hard. That, and I forgot to add the mayonnaise.

A ham sandwich with cheese and egg on top, though the egg is hard to see due to the cheese being marble cheddar and the yolk being runny and covering the plate it's served on. The cheese is especially melty, filling in the gap that was made from cutting the sandwich in half as directed by the recipe. The ham is not visible as it is right in the middle of the bread and layered between two slices of Monterey Jack cheese.

I've been dying to draw a "Vic in Victoria" comic for a long while.

For context, I found a set of felt tip pens with various widths; what better way is there to play around with depth than to use different thicknesses and line weights?

When I was living in a small village in the West Kootenays, my mother, brother, and I would have to travel out to an Okanagan city once a month to get groceries (local shops charged too much for groceries). In order to get to the Okanagan, we would have to drive through the Monashee Mountains, a winding road that even as an adult makes me car sick. One winter, we were making our way to the Okanagan city for a grocery. While driving around one of the winding bends early on in that drive, a logging truck came around the corner from the other way. Due to the icy road conditions, the back end with the logs swerved into our lane, nearly hitting us. Of course, we didn't die. It was still a horrifying moment that, to this day, is ingrained in my memory. As I write this Alt text, I have to wonder if the driver of that logging truck felt as scared as we were at the idea that he could have accidentally taken our lives. Maybe he was scared of falling down the side of the mountain, given how low and flimsy all the side guards were throughout the mountain pass.

Today, I was going to draw something for May Day or Star Wars Day, but then I found out that Canada Post sent my anniversary gift, to my brother and sister-in-law, to Winnipeg for some reason.

We all live in BC. FML.
A Canada Post delivery van is driving on the road. The driver, for some unknown reason, yells out "That's it, OFF TO WINNIPEG!" This is in reference to a joke from The Simpsons.

I've been having a rough week or so, so here's some vent art.

I cover my eyes in my hands; whether it is by guilt or shame for merely existing, it doesn't matter. Behind me is a dark shadow-like entity, representing my soul, mismatched with my physical form. Its empty eyes stare at you, pleading desperately in vain for recognition of my own humanity. Perhaps, by some cosmic accident, I was born in the wrong world.
