I don't know how they did it, but between Rocky Road to Dublin, Go Lassie Go, and Pick Poor Robin Clean, the songs were *wrong*. Wonderfully performed, but unsettling in a way I can't quite put my finger on. 1/

What I liked about his sequence is that every Black person I’ve talked to about Sinners rightfully mentioned how *catchy* his musical interpretation of “Rocky Road to Dublin”. They mention unconsciously tapping their feet. Or moving their shoulders. Or nodding their heads, etc. etc
