Received my copy of the Routledge Handbook of Contemporary Taiwan 2nd Edition today. My chapter, titled "Contemporary Taiwan Cinema", offers a broad survey by introducing Taiwanese-language cinema, Healthy Realism, commercial genre films, Taiwan New Cinema, and Post-New Cinema.

My talks in Leiden, Feb 2014 vs. Dec 2024. The 2014 talk was about Korean Wave in Taiwan; the 2024 talk was on how women were portrayed in old Taiwanese-language cinema. Jens Damm invited me in 2014. The host in 2024 was Debra Sang but Jens was there too! A small world.
