WOW. Finally someone who gets it. A clear picture of the future of the Canadian energy sector. A non-partisan critical assessment of the pros and cons of the announced Liberal statuary. An assessment of the prevailing energy doctrine worldwide. Worth every minute of the listen.

what kind of meat do you think is in a Big Mac?

Any network that runs three 'Big Bang Theory' episodes back to back in prime time is in deep, deep financial trouble. If one party vows to kill your ad revenue competitor, it is easy to see how economics might influence journalistic integrity.

CTV looks to be in financial trouble. Firing employees and replacing them with unpaid or poorly paid 'interns' (ie. journalism students). Vassy Kapelos is seeking the 'Mike Duffy Memorial Senate Seat'. where an 'unbiased' CTV commentator walks out the door and right into a Conservative senate seat.

Look at any two photos of a US President entering office and leaving office. Those 4 years put at least 10 years of wear and tear on their bodies. At 78, his body can't take that kind of pressure.
(Unless, of course, he gets in lots of relaxing golf)

Try this one on. You lease a new BMW. The lease obligates you to return the same vehicle at lease end. You insure it's full value. Its totalled. The highest value any insurer will pay is 100% of your purchase price. Tariff has added 25% to replace identical car. You are sh*t out of luck!

Security clearance 2015. Marriage 2017. Security clearance now gone. Any connection?

4/ There are academic papers on this subject, with varying conclusions.

4/ I studied International Law with Rt Hon Lester Pearson who negotiated Canada’s NATO entry; He signed the NATO Treaty. I distinctly remember he said that the US objected to an automatic mutual defence obligation and the compromise was the weaker self-determination provision.

3/ The Treaty states that each member "shall take such action as it deems necessary". Any or all members could decline to engage militarily.

2/ Greenland has not signed instruments of accession so its status may depend on the terms of its territorial agreement with Denmark. (3) Contrary to popular belief, there is no OBLIGATION of mutual defence.
March 29, 2025 at 12:52 PM
1/ From a legal viewpoint it is important to parse the wording of Article V. (1) it must be an 'armed attack'. Inducing or aiding a domestic coup does not count. (2) the attack must be in Europe or N.A. Greenland’s sovereign status is complex; with no separate military it is not be eligible to join.

Reminded me of the old schoolyard comeback: "Sticks and stones will break Ukrainians bones, but names will hurt the Russians", or something like that.

I have had 3 levels of clearance, including Top Secret, over 20+ year career in govt. handling Cabinet documents. Each was granted under different Government leadership. CSIS would never allow political interference in their security assessment. The head of CSIS would resign if any party even tried.

He is not fearful of what a background check may uncover. He is fearful that the public will find out what CSIS has already uncovered and revealed to him as the basis for rejecting his security clearance application.

I have had Top Secret clearance for 20+ years granted under every government lead by both Cons and Libs.

Ask Musk how many taxpayers dollars were saved by sending a fleet of transport planes full of armoured vehicles and security personnel to protect a private citizen going to view a dog-sled race. Are these 'savings' coming from the Social Security budget?
March 24, 2025 at 1:57 PM
There was a distinct lack of media curiosity when the report on 'Foreign Electoral Interference' was released and PP pointed out that he had not read it, but left it to one of his MP's. His lack of interest in the possibility that it may contain 'attack bait' struck me as curious at the time.
March 24, 2025 at 5:02 AM
For those of us that have had 'Top Secret' for years, this is pure BS. Talk around certain Ottawa coffee shops is that it is not PP's failure to 'apply' that is the problem, it is his ability to 'pass'.

Listen to his words..he said he would "insist" that Trump recognize Canadian sovereignty. Good enough for me....problem solved.

Must be a typo...I've seen that slogan before but it said "America First"..Now where was that??
