You’re right though. As with DV there is so much victim blaming going on. But as someone that’s been there as well sometimes the best thing you can do is keep your life going. It’s part of the belief it will get better. Do what you can, don’t give up, and know we are just one part of change.

I try to always do a cleansing in the shower for myself, and a reiki clearing of the house in the evening.

That’s why I do most of my reading by phone app in public. Hardbacks for collecting. Paperbacks for home annotating. Ebooks for out and about. Not hiding. Just easier to carry.

Despite that, the author manages to keep hope shining through it all, giving the hea that is my mainstay in current reading given the state of the world. This book was good for that bright spot needed so often these days.

In both books the author well captures the mental and emotional ordeals the characters go through in a way that sometimes is almost too relatable for someone that has dealt with the same traumas and familial pain.

I really enjoyed the first book in the Silver Rapids series, Under the Lupine Moon so was excited for this book. Truthfully, I loved it even more than the first book but that is saying a lot.

We all know it doesn’t mean the same but in the end certain words (and symbols) end up holding one heavy connotation that supersedes all others because that’s how language and society evolved. There is no reason to use those words/things when consideration goes a long way to avoid upset and pain.
