The cops freely admit that his post was not, in fact, a threat, but because unnamed anonymous people allegedly believed it to be a threat, they decided Bushart is criminally responsible for other people's lack of reading comprehension. So any speech can be arbitrarily deemed a threat now, it seems.

The school where the shooting happened was in Iowa, but it had a name similar (but not identical) to a high school local to Bushart. The Sheriff alleges that "people in the community" interpreted it as a threat (there is zero evidence of this), and so they arrested him for making threats.

Trump said something callous about a school shooting. Bushart posted a meme showing that, with the sentiment of "seems relevant today..." because he was highlighting the hypocrisy of Trump saying we need to "get over" a school shooting, but then hosting a ridiculous ceremony over Kirk's shooting.
