It's hard, isn't it? Your solution is a start.

Hi Troy. How'd you find out your books were stolen by OpenAI? I'm curious as to whether mine were, although given their sales popularity, OpenAI probably avoided them as rigorously as buyers do. Is there a place I'd go to find out?

I don't think you'll see them take offense often. The principal thing that rankles them is not political, but a lingering tendency to regard speculative fiction as subliterary. That's not in your argument at all, as far as I can tell (although I've yet to read the book...).

But he waved goodbye, saying
"Don't you cry, I'll be back again someday."

I did this with 2 novels I wrote for ROC back in the 90s--ARCADY and ALLAMANDA. My solution was that a minor character in the first book became central in the 2nd. It worked out well in my situation. Good luck with whatever tactic you decide on!

I thought drinking goat's blood was prerequisite for attendance.

ABSOLUTELY, Junior. It's baffling to me when I go to speculative fiction gatherings and meet resistance when I tell new writers to "read outside your genre." And it's not just what you read or watch: have other interests, damn it! They provide fuel for your work!

REALLY happy for ya, darling! You've got the talent to deserve it and the drive to use it!

He's very, very nuanced. The short stories are well told, but so dense in implication. Marvelously subtle writer.

Or my opinion, at least.

That's why I chose to post this list, Junior. Wanna protect you from the bad lists. 😜

I've always thought Wolfe was a major writer, sadly underrated because he wrote speculative fiction. A superb series, this one.

Agreed. Although Breaking Bad is very good, IMO.

I never heard that term, Junior. Only "strawman" for essentially what you're talking about. Is it a new term you kids use?

Glad to see you, Bobby. So far it seems good here.

Good luck. I know about the waiting.
