Ah it's not really that chill of a game. It is frequently put in the cozy genre but it's very much an RPG. You have another empire that invades the town in sandrock and takes over and he's the general that comes in after your MC saves the town. So he looks military because he is.

When I first played it, I took several long long moments just looking around. The place is gorgeous. Also unsettling. When you see a giant whale shark thing swimming by in the background and there is water leaking in right in front of you, it's like "uh oh, I'm in trouble"
