I always struggle with the transition from #sketch to clean #lineart. I often wanna jump ahead to values or background and resist returning to the lineart but because I like cell shading, I will have to clean and refine the line art eventually. It’s just delaying the inevitable.

As the year comes to a close, I wanna give a shout out to this piece I did back in January. It was my first illustration of the year. I was so proud of it. Looking at it now, there are definitely different choices I would make. That’s testament to my growth over the year. Here’s to growth in 2025.
