Juneteenth is a celebration of emancipation—and a reminder that freedom is a shared promise still being pursued. As we celebrate and acknowledge Juneteenth, let us also commemorate Juneteenth not only as a historic milestone, but as a call to action. Now more than ever, our inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness must bind us together as a community. That means recognizing that none of us are free until all of us are free. As we honor Black resistance and joy, we also stand in solidarity with immigrant and refugee communities who continue to face detainment, deportation, and fear. The struggle for liberation has always been interconnected—and our work must be, too. We believe in a world where community means protection, not punishment.
