A peek #inside one of the coolest music venues of the Midwest: The Sh*tty Barn. The intimate setting seats approx 100 people.

One of my concert regrets was not seeing the Black Pumas there in 2019 – right before they shot to fame.

It was a humbling, sacred experience, standing #inside Saint-Michel d'Aiguilhe in Le Puy-en-Velay.

An architectural marvel, the chapel was built in 969 atop a volcanic plug. To reach it, you must climb 268 steps carved into the rock.

Many have faded over time, but you can still make out many of its paintings and scenes which include Christ and several angels. Two small windows with stain glass are on each side of the frame. It’s sunny out, so the stain glass is a bit washed out.

The platforms along the spiral staircase are seen throughout the stony walls, which are covered with moss. A circular view of sky and a few tree branches are seen above, at the top of the well. The Initiation Well at the Quinta da Regaleira was designed by Italian architect Luigi Manini, under the direction of the property owner António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro who wanted to build out the estate to reflect his interests and ideologies. The well has nine platforms, which are thought to represent the nine circles of Hell, the nine divisions of Purgatory, and the nine skies that make up Paradise in Dante Alighieri's epic theological poem, "Divine Comedy," written in the 14th century. The full Dante quote I wanted to use, but ran out of characters: “We climbed, he first and I behind, until through a small round opening ahead of us, I saw the lovely things the heavens hold, and we came out to see once more the stars.”
