My usually logical partner is a brilliant physicist and a good athlete. He genuinely thought he could run faster than our 10lb poodle puppy & was offended when I laughed at him. He raced the puppy; it wasn’t even close. He was embarrassed and accepted reality. The whole thing was kind of cute lol.

I appreciate you bringing the conversation here. It is very tiring to hear all the shame people pile on for buying from Amazon without exception. Between accessibility and cost, some people don’t have a reasonable alternative, and that’s ok. They aren’t the ones responsible for the mess we’re in.

I lost my best friend of 14 yrs in Nov. & it has destroyed me so I’m barely a shadow of myself. We got a new puppy 18 months ago in anticipation of the impending loss, & I deeply regret it now that I know this pain. I have only guaranteed that if I do ever recover, I am sure to be devastated again.

And there’s no space to be unsure or wrong on any topic. It’s an impossible standard that vilifies everyone into impotence.
