This is a poster that contains a short excerpt from page 11 of my book, THE STRANDS OF OUR MAGIC. I created this through a Canva.com template titled, “Colorful Elegant Feminine Love Romance Fantasy Book Cover,” by Nasiyat Akmatova. (In my first lines post on October 4, I mentioned that the floral frame illustration is by GDJ from Pixabay. I hadn’t yet found the creator of the poster as a whole when I had posted my first lines the other day.) A little about this poster: The background of this poster is a deep gold and the floral frame surrounding the title of my book and my excerpt is indigo. My excerpt is also indigo, but the title, THE STRANDS OF OUR MAGIC, and a little note I made about Hima at the bottom of the page is a cream color. My note about Hima is the following. Hima knows "all that glitters is not gold." But if it glitters, how can she resist? This note is to the right of a cartoon silhouette of a woman’s face turned to the right. Between my title and my note about Hima is the excerpt from my book. The text is the following. I was more than ready to get this over with and return home. When I looked around the ballroom, my mood abruptly lifted. The image of the nobles in their balcony level drew me in like a moth to a flame. As an artist, I couldn’t help but be enchanted by a beautiful sight, no matter what the sight stood for...and, oh, the way the court members’ vivid balloon gowns sashayed as they clinked their crystal wine glasses made them look absolutely ethereal.

The following is the text of my poster. The Strands of Our Magic I stared into a brass hand mirror, observing the smallest motions of the court lady behind me. Soon, she would stumble out of my makeup shop, her silk purse filled with so many of my lovely products it would be bursting at the seams. But I was getting ahead of myself. First, I had to find the pinprick hole in this lady’s pampered life and convince her that my cosmetics could patch it up perfectly. Unfortunately, her expression didn’t reveal anything.

The first row has an illustration of Dementors from Harry Potter made by the creator Vlad Pan (@vlad.pan) on Instagram.
