It is easier to make their “stand” against someone who standing against may in their calculation not be a large risk. But they can take place themselves on the moral high ground to have stood up to the “incivility” of the David in not the Goliath.(2)

It is like the point is they want to contrast themselves against incivility that is generating so much upset and anguish but lack courage to stand up to the liar who is truly committing egregious incivility.(1)

David Axelrod called what Al Green did “despicable.” Green is trying to stand up for poor people who will be devastated & whose lives will be endangered by cuts to Medicaid. Human beings will die. Does David Axelrod understand what that kind of poverty is?
