Last Sunday, a group of our younger volunteers carried out what was once a rite of passage at our railway: salvaging spare parts from a derelict Belfast & County Down Railway carriage.

While the track team labour away on our new siding, our master carriage painter, Cyril, has been beavering away inside 1888-vintage GSWR carriage No.69 inside our workshop. Cyril has been transforming the interior panelling with a scumble affect.

Doing the Double for Downpatrick at the HRA awards in Newcastle upon Tyne on the evening of Saturday 8th February!

We won Team of the Year for our core flood recovery management team and Achievement of the Year.
