The Ladybird Room have been very curious about animals this week they have discovered in the sensory area .The children have been grouping the animals by their patterns, families. The children have become much more confident with identifying what animals are “big” and what are “small”. 🐒🦍

The Ladybird Room had lots of fun at the park! We had a little chat beforehand with our friend Simoa 🐘 on how to keep ourselves safe walking to the park and staying with the ladies. We had so much fun exploring all of the park as developing our gross motor skills and special awareness.

This week in the Ladybird Room small world area we have been looking at different farm animals, animal puzzle games and linking the animals from the ‘Dear Zoo’ book. Role play and imaginative play along with naming and showing our knowledge of the different animals.

This week outdoors in the LadybirdRoom we have explored our senses as we recycled a couple of jars and put scents in them to further our role play in the mud kitchen and we also did a sensory experience of smelling some different scents.

This week in the Ladybird Room we have been further developing colour recognition of our primary colours. Blue spaghetti ,yellow shaving foam and red jelly. We have also had out some other activities relating to these colours such as chalk and paint sticks.
