It’s not a savings of taxpayers dollars—it’s $1T worth of consumer goods we could not afford to buy. Sure, some of them were frivolous. But a lot of them were new clothes or school supplies or tires to replace balding tires on older cars which will themselves last how much longer?

Those will be cherished by them and their descendants, I promise. We pass things like this down in our family, with the stories. I love sewing clothes and costumes for the kids in the family. I’ve just started embroidering tea towels in the evening to put away for the same kids for the future

This is a case of the admin using a simple truth to push its own agenda. Practicing self-respect and showing respect to others, even only in fulfillment of a societal norm, improves one’s sense of self-worth. Bring self-awareness to dressing well would do all of us some good.

My second bout of COVID, despite vaxxing and masking, triggered the single worst episode of fibromyalgia I’ve ever had. It was 18 months of doing the barest of minimums and only in the last five months seeing improvement. I seem to have acquired permanent deficits of balance. I continue to mask.
