My friends were introduced to the musical by the film, too, so at least it exposed the music to a wider audience! And yeah it's definitely not as bad as 2019 Cats lol. You can find the original stage production of Into the Woods right on YouTube and I can't recommend it enough :)

The movie isn’t *bad* but it’s bizarrely unfunny, when the stage show is funny as hell! I know tones shift with adaptations but I feel like the point is Act I is funny and a traditional fairytale and Act II is when everything gets serious and goes wrong, and you lose that a bit in the movie

I don’t think anyone who isn’t on tumblr knows how bad it is on there, but there was literally a spam blog that went from posting porn to posing as a person in Gaza w/ a gofundme lol. But how dare you question blogs that start e-begging immediately after being made & also use AI-generated images 🙄

Tumblr in particular has been flooded with the Gaza scams for over a year now with identical anonymous e-begging messages sent en masse to blogs, and clearly fake blogs spamming posts’ reply sections, and of course tumblr has been accusing anyone skeptical of the messages of supporting genocide lol

Sorry for the ramble, I’m just an educator who’s concerned about AI being used in schools for example, while also knowing “AI” can describe a lot of things, including the way characters move and respond in video games lol. We need nuance so ppl don’t tune us out about the ACTUAL bad things about AI!

I do think marketing is part of the problem bc people see ads like “have AI summarize your text messages!” & are like “wtf why?” That’s what people see as useless bc that’s what’s being marketed to normies, bc a lot of legit AI uses can’t be marketed en masse to people outside of specialized fields

a lot of AI haters are really only hating one kind of technology/usage of it and don’t know the ways it can actually be used. Like hell yeah brother, use AI to help with cancer cell detection! No, don’t use AI to summarize books for school or use it as your therapist lol
