Ha! And that is exactly as things should be (although not for me as I cannot let go of my dear old Nan’s advice/warning!). I do like a coral pink…

In other news, it’s great to see Polanksi still getting airtime! I thought the media would have begun to cut his supply given he seems so dangerously popular with people.

That’s a new one to me! In art, red and green are known as complementary colours as they are opposite each other on the colour wheel (which actually offers the greatest contrast) whereas colours close to each other, such as blue and green, are said to be analogous. Maybe my nan was a secret artist…

The snidey, cowardly, shite isn’t ‘brave’ enough to be a racist to someone’s face as he knows he’d get the smack he deserves.

When I was little my gran told me ‘blue and green should not be seen’ and that has stuck with me for life. I’d never dream of pairing blue and green but I’m nowhere near as cool, not stylish, as Terence Stamp, a man who would look good in a bin bag…

Great choice. My favourite remake is either this or maybe Cronenberg’s 1986 take on The Fly (1958). As with Carpenter’s Thing the physical effects really hold up but it’s Cronenberg turning the slightly hokey original into the most Cronenberg of films that makes it so strong.

The first Fell I climbed (a very long time ago) and a fine viewpoint to see the whole extent of the Lake District stretching southwards. Many fells climbed, on many a happy day, since but my heart always lifts when seeing Blencathra again.

There is no evidence that will support such a generic claim. Life expectancy in the exclusion zone varies according to species - some showing evidence of shorter life spans related to local high contamination levels but many species are thriving in ways they were not before the removal of humans.

The sight of Gove and Ashworth laughing along with each other (as Ashworth inevitably plugs his podcast) about the loathsome authoritarianism of Mahmoud is not a good way to start a morning!

That any contemporary Government anywhere is even referencing, let alone attempting to pass legislation dictated by, some ancient ‘moral’ text based around mythology is madness. That they are always entirely hypocritical, morality free, dim witted, scumbags is just another layer…

Well, that’s dancing goats added to my list of impractical pets I really need. Also on that list are two mini donkeys, a puffer fish, and a crow that brings me gifts in exchange for treats.

I don’t care about what the protocol might be, or the consequences for access, if I were a journalist and he addressed me like that I’d advise him to go f himself. In less gentle terms.
