LEARN SELF DEFENSE & COUNTER-SURVEILLANCE *Know your rights, even when they're being ignored: Police and federal agents will try to intimidate and trap people into self-incrimination. Never speak to law enforcement without a lawyer, even if they threaten you. *Train in self-defense and situational awareness: Fascist groups often use street violence. Learn de-escalation, hand-to-hand combat, and safe escape route in your city. *Avoid digital tracking: Cover cameras, disable location tracking, pay in cash when possible, and limit your use of biometric technology (like fingerprint scanners). If protests and demonstrations are being monitored, wear masks, gloves, and clothing that won't stand out.

Surviving it requires staying aware, protecting yourself, and building underground networks of resistance- but it also requires recognizing that not everyone can just "leave". Many survival guides assume fleeing is an option, bit in the U.S., escaping is difficult due to financial barriers, passport restrictions, and bureaucratic fees. For those who must stay, survival depends on strategic resistance, self-sufficiency, and community networks. Stay informed, but stay safe *Recognize the early warning signs: Fascism doesn't arrive overnight - it escalates through propaganda, militarized policing, criminalization of descent, and targeted repression of marginalized groups. If people start disappearing, if laws shift toward criminalization of entire populations, or if independent media is suppressed, assume the worst and plan accordingly. *Secure your digital life: Governments surveil actuvis,hournalis,and organizers. Use encrypted communication (Signal, ProtonMail, and VPNs). Delete unnsocial media accounts. If possible, use burner phones and cash for important purchases. *Learn how to read between the lines: Fascist regumes rely on misinformation to manufacture consent. Mainstream media will normalize state violence, so rely on independent and underground resources to understand what's happening. Create a refuge where you are *Have an emergency plan even if you can't leave: if you are targeted, know where you can hide, who you can rely on, and what your exit options are (even if temporary) *Create emergency caches: Hide IDs, cash, burner phones, and first aid kits in places they won't be found.
