The sheriff asked them to take her out, but he's backpedaling as says he didn't know them. I sense some real tension between the sheriff and the police chief.

Three men, dressed in black, zip tie a woman and carry her out without identifying themselves? So scary. Makes you wonder if anyone would help if I was attacked on the street.

I guess I watch and read to many spy thrillers because they always refer to the people they "handle" as assets.

They manage assets, Including people, but also physical assets like buildings, timber, and corporations.
