My favorite flavor is 'Moose Goose Caboose': a coffee & sesame version of Moose Tracks
We sit outside by the murals and just... enjoy the sun and ice cream. It's really nice. I think about how things feel like they're finally starting to come together... I have a girlfriend, we're mostly done with the summer homework, I'm pretty much caught back up to my grade level, and we're gonna start training again as soon as I can convince Dad. I just watch Mai finish her ice cream with a huge smile on my face. “What?” she asks, noticing, “Do I have some on my face...?” “No, just...” I think for a minute, “It feels like stuff is finally calmed down. Everything's finally just... Settled, yknow?” She smiles back, “Yeah. After my parents died, I didn't know if anything would be back to normal. And, I mean... I guess they still aren't normal by 'normal' standards...” She tilts her head, then smiles brightly, “But it's settled into a really nice routine. I have a datemate I love, they gave me Fang back, we have a house and people who care about us... And all we really need to worry about is school and training. It's refreshing. I get to just be a kid, kinda.” I smile and nod, “Exactly.” She reaches out a hand, and I take it. We just hold hands for a bit. Enjoying the sun, the company...
