i had an international/exchange student this semester who is returning to their Japan over the summer.
given that context, I told them they could do one of their last 2 speeches in Japanese if they wanted since that's the mode their public speaking would likely take.

"the citations are overwhelmingly white. if you're going to engage [marginalized concept/method/theory/framework], then your citations should reflect that same commitment."

my mom was part of the talc lawsuit against J&J in Georgia. the number of people involved in this suit (client, attorney, and otherwise) who don't know the difference b/w reply and reply all is very concerning. (and annoying).
