Copying then pasting a "this really worked" post will NOT "reset the algorithm" nor "upgrade the system". That is not how social media works. You are simply perpetuating a digital chain-letter, also identifying yourself as a potential sucker.

When I power off an iPhone or iPad with facial recognition and fingerprint recognition, it will require that I provide my password the next time that I (or someone else) turns it on — thus disabling the biometric login.

Historically, it takes a generation or more for civilization, customs and norms to develop and usefully adapt after the introduction of powerful new tools (a.k.a. technologies). In the worst cases*, one or more generation may suffer terribly before society bends to assimilate the new thing.

Before updating or repairing a computer — or entrusting this maintenance to someone else — I first backup its internal drive. This is the best insurance against most worst-case outcomes. Besides, it's something you should have done anyway.

As you travel about over these holidays, keep in mind that mobile navigation apps like Google Maps make it so easy to find the independent coffee shops that are along your route. I'm just sayin'.
