It's the reason why I started to dislike using the word "pet" because I noticed it's been watered down to "thing for my entertainment" by many. I hope that makes sense. "Companion" feels more fitting and adds weight to it. You're welcoming them into your life to live alongside them, not "own" them

It's so cruel and shows just how little research the owner did, because that's one of the first things that pop up when you search up information surrounding rat care

I don't think it's your fault, personally. No matter how much you insist, sometimes people are just so convinced that a cat who's endangered in the outdoors is way better than being safe indoors. Some people even think keeping them indoors is "abuse" and "ruining their lifestyle"

I'm really only frustrated with the ignorance— the people who will shut down your concerns and insist they're right no matter what. Because there there are people who are just uneducated on the dangers and let their cat out while not thinking much on it.

I'm not talking about you, because it wasn't totally in your control + you live with other people who can easily let the cats out. I'm talking about people who willingly ignore all of the concerns that people have for their cat(s) and continue letting them out despite having the control not to.
