this is the best pov i've seen on this so far tbh, i am v much seeing this thing today as opening the door to people who otherwise might not have realized how varied activism actually is and how many opportunities there are to participate
If someone new to activism tells you about something like Blackout Friday, my feeling is you respond and say, “Cool!” and take part because it costs you nothing, then follow up with “Thanks for telling me about that—do you want to join me on [sustained action]?”

It's not just fdr. One of the things the epa did not long after it was formed was document the nation's pollution via photography. That can seem frivolous, but generations of Americans have no idea why the EPA was necessary. This broke a million views when we published it in 2017
