For me at least, I didn't have an attachment to the series roots. I played 3 of the 4 campaigns myself with a friend recently, wanting to see the game for myself and came away thinking the game largely deserved its reputation for sucking ass. I did respect the ambition Capcom clearly had at least.

It might be better than Ninja Gaiden 3 at least in the One Of The Worst stakes. Might. Close thing though.
