Look at the Nokia/Microsoft deal under Ballmer. If he believes in something, he’ll be the last to abandon it. He probably believe that he was taking steps to reduce the carbon footprint of the stadium and private jet travel. If you’re going to defraud people, it makes sense to target a billionaire.
