And much of this funding is passed through states to local governments. Roads, bridges, fire programs, police funding, school food, social services funding, you name it. The potential impacts are massive and hit 100% of the population in some way, if this illegal act is permitted to stand.

This freeze has the potential to materially impact state and local governments’ highway programs, social services, school lunches, multiple fire and police department grants.

It is budget season for local governments with June 30 fiscal year ends. Go to your local government’s public hearings on budgets and encourage reduction of dependence on federal funding whenever possible. Support hikes on excise taxes (meals, lodging, cigarette taxes) which you can avoid.
