I occasionally take pictures, sometimes of cats or moss, and I spend a lot of time professionally thinking about what things mean.
Mole chimichanga with steak. Nice to have a solid Mexican place close to home. (Agaves in Lee, MA)

A bit of Aurora borealis behind the clouds. There was green before I went outside.

Extremely large tree.

Ada, on the other hand, is highly treat motivated, and any song that fits her vibe will get its lyrics changed to be about treats. Think Heart’s “These Treats” or Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Treats”.

And Fitzy is the Michael McDonald of cats, so anytime some yacht rock comes on, we have to tailor the lyrics for him.

We had a corned beef in the freezer we needed to use up, and a cabbage in the fridge, so a fusion meal - corned beef with Dijon mustard, roasted carrots and potatoes, sweet-and-sour cabbage, cabbage and apple slaw, and a slice of sourdough bread.

Still one of the best cat photos I’ve ever taken.

There was a dude with a horn who seemed a bit old for a Wanderjahre, and a strolling rendition of This Land Is Your Land. Very Berkshires.

Lots of normies out in West Stockbridge, with at least half of cars driving past honking “for democracy”.

Pasta alla Norma (basically - there was fresh mozzarella in the fridge to use up) with tomato sauce, roasted eggplant, and basil from the garden.

First spoke of the season, plus a little crisp, because there was no way all that filling was fitting inside the pie crust.

From an @americastestkitchen.com recipe for Dutch Apple Pie, slightly modified with walnuts added to the streusel.

And she’s Kool Aid-manning her way around my office, now, knocking things on the floor. (Well, I need to vacuum, I dropped the peanuts last week.)

Dinner: chef salad and flaky buttermilk biscuits.

Much like gAI, a lot of the danger is in assuming the underlying data is comprehensive and accurate. (I have a lot of additional opinions on Palantir. Maybe I’ll write them up someday.)

First real produce from the garden - Asian eggplant, grilled with olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and salt and pepper.

We have two cats, both have many songs. The tortoiseshell demands all lyric choices are treat-related, the grey tuxedo boy, being the Michael McDonald of cats, insists on yacht rock. My husband and I will duet so we can do the backing vocals as Fitzy.

From a @kingarthurbaking.bsky.social recipe, a cinnamon swirl bread with streusel topping. Modified by substituting figs and walnuts for the raisins in the filling.

I found this obituary of our state senator, who my dad knew and would call if there was anything he wanted to express his opinion on. My parents supported public education, even though they sent us to parochial school (for decent reasons).
