Today, AEA member and Selma City Schools educator Veronica Pitts was named the 2025-2026 National Civics Teacher of the Year by the Bill of Rights Institute. City and state officials, fellow AEA members, and her family surprised her with a pep rally in her honor. Congratulations, Mrs. Pitts! 🎉
