Believe me, I had no idea how people did anything like that, I was just spending and never really knew if I could actually afford things. Until I started using the ynab system a few years ago, and it really clicked in my brain haha

YNAB gives you a month free trial by default, so if you ever want to give it a try, you at least have the chance to think about it haha I have saving funds for every kind of expense in my life and it really has made my life so much better 😂 I feel very chill even when I have to spend a lot

Budgeting has a big learning curve!! A resource that really worked for me and I often recommend (not a paid ad istg, it just REALLY helped me) are YNAB videos and app, mostly the concept behind the system. It took me out of debt when I was totally struggling.
