So here's a bit from the new chapter I'm working on for Kingslayer.

A murky cloud of emotions stirred in his stomach, whipping his insides into a typhoon. “Did you want something else?” he finally asked, his hands clenched into fists at his back. The captain responded by rising slowly from his bow, silent and with no apparent intention to speak. His hand flexed and closed rapidly at his side. “No…” “Then what do you mean you ‘panicked’?” the prince asked sharply, vexed by the captain’s odd behavior. “You were offered a prize of your choosing.” “I…” Lan Wangji’s hands dropped to his sides as he stared expectantly at captain of the King’s Guard who had inexplicably lost all his senses. What was it that his brother saw in this man who crumbled before his prince? “I should not have asked for what my Prince may not have wished to give.”

Here's a bit from Deflowered Lies Have Crimson Roots that I wrote today.

Help me with him!” Wen Qing called blindly in his direction before falling to her knees at the stranger's side and pressing her fingers to his carotid. His pulse was weak, but he was alive, and upon further inspection, that fact became nothing less than miraculous. The bearded and weather-beaten veteran jolted to attention. “Help A-Ning get him on the stretcher and carry him to my office. I need to keep pressure on this wound. Everyone else, GET OUT OF THE FUCKING WAY.”
