All in all, this album is truly special. I'm so very glad to have found Bon Iver at this point in my life and am excited to keep this album in my rotation

"The Wolves (Act I and II)". I am a sucker for a long buildups and vocals that repeat with added variations and this song scratches that itch. I get emotional every time I hear it. Another standout on the album is "Lump Sum". The repetitive and dissonant guitar chords are simply addicting.

on repeat since the first time I heard it. "Flume" is the perfect opener, it gets you right in the mood for what this album has to offer and the ringing guitar strings in the background pierce my eardrums in the best way possible. Possibly my favorite song on the album is

My favorite song off the album is the ninth song, "Alesis." The song has his my favorite vocal performance on the album and is dangerously catchy, to the point where I hear it once, and it is stuck in my head for the whole day.

Seriously, if you haven't heard this album yet, I highly recommend it

The star of this album is easily the guitar. It is distorted in such a dreamy way to where, at times, the guitar sounds as though it's playing from underwater. The song "Rylee & I," for example, Mk.gee makes his guitar sound like some creature from the deep calling out to the listener.

When this album came out, I was pretty unaware of who Mk.gee was other than the fact that he is a frequent collaborator with Dijon. After listening to this album, I instantly became a fan. To this day, a year after its release, I have yet to hear anything quite like it.
