She was accused, it doesn't mean she actually did it. Further, I had chat GPT scour the internet for any evidence supporting these accusations and came up with absolutely, which is highly suspect given how everything is captured on phones.

I am aware of the contradictions. As humans we are all conflicted but I do try to do right by animals and the environment. Surely the ground you walk on isn't free from life.

I enjoy fishing and also eating fish I catch. I'm against factory farming but not against eating meat in principle. I think keeping wild animals captive is cruel, and running tests on them in captivity is especially cruel. I think these are all reasonable beliefs. You are free to disagree.

It's so messed up that we still do medical tests on monkeys.

I bought the OG Virtual Boy day 1 with my own $ from summer jobs. It was ahead of its time. Sadly my VB broke and I ended up selling it years ago. I'm all in for this re-release.

I hear from Republicans it's a "mental health problem", not a gun problem. No, it's actually a gun problem, but even if mental health was the root issue, what the flying f*ck have they done to help the mentally ill? Take away their health care?

I was a 80s-90s kid during the dawn of the internet, so by the time I was old enough to type, typewriters were long obsolete, and I never learned "@" in school when learning handwriting, so my first exposure to it was on a PC keyboard. It only took me 30 years to learn the real origin!

Seeing the @ symbol was confusing, given its modern use in emails and the age of the typewriter, so I looked it up. Turns out that @ has been used for hundreds of years in selling goods (good @ unit cost). Go figure!

That is some seriously Sega Genesis sound in the best sort of way.

While Super Mario Bros was my intro to gaming, and I was fully obsessed with it, I was only 5, and not good enough to finish it. I would play it with my Dad, who eventually beat it. Super Mario World was when I got my gaming wings and I did EVERYTHING there was to do in that game on my own.

Actually I have a question if you aren't too busy. Can the users of the "bricked" consoles still play offline games, or are they just banned from online services? I am seeing mixed reports online but it sounded like this was an account ban. To me "bricking" means the switch will not play games.

That would be ideal, but the process requires planning, analysis, design and usually public outreach/input. Admittedly my experience was 10 years ago, so maybe things changed, but depending on size and complexity, redesigning a road can be <1 year to 2+years from planning stage to implementing.

NYCDOT has been trying to implement Vision Zero for well over a decade now. The policies for street design are in place but the problem is that it is only done incrementally. There are A LOT of roads across the 5 boroughs. A MAJOR infrastructure program is needed.

Happy birthday! This brought me back. Flying saucers were regularly found in the freezer as a kid growing up on LI. Didn't realize how good I had it.

I remember renting this one weekend. The only thing worse than renting Super Man 64 would be buying Superman 64.

I think the ratio of unique posters to daily active users is a much more meaningful statistic for engagement. As best I can tell from asking Chat GPT, Blue Sky is double the engagement of X and Threads.

1) Running to the video game section to grab a paper slip.
2) Seeing an empty slot and being devastated.
3)Checking nearby slots to see if a paper slip was misplaced.
4)Finding one!
5) paying and getting the slip stamped.
6) Taking stamped slip to a security booth to exchange it for your game.

This was probably the most a game has ever made me feel. Solving puzzles while crying my eyes out was not how I thought I would spend my Saturday morning in bed with my Switch, but I'm glad I did.

I have been buying blu-ray movies lately. Digital libraries spread out between google, Microsoft and others is just getting ridiculous. Not to mention Xbox just closed their tv/movie store! Though I keep my movies i bought from them...for now! Nothing is guaranteed!!

Say game prices actually rose with inflation over the past 20+ years, how much better or worse off would we be? It still boggles my mind how relatively cheap games are to buy today.

It helps when using the shrine map underground to navigate areas that are still dark. Also, did you notice that the underground terrain is the inverse of the surface?

I watched the daily show regularly during the 00's and early 2010s and took inspiration from the pieces they did and the guests they had on. I never thought I was jaded or cool for watching the show. The show's vibe from my perspective was more comedy plus "we're mad and you should be to".
