What impressed me was your immediate reaction. You didn't recoil in fear, you went after him until you saw he was subdued. It demonstrated in action as well as word, that you won't let bullies win.

Frey and Walz urging citizens to risks their lives will lead to more thuggish behavior and deaths at the hands of ICE. To think that rhetoric and rallies will modify ICE behavior is beyond naive. Frey and Walz need to take personal action. They should be out there risking their own lives.

Impeachable and Criminal? The GOP controls the Executive and Legislative Branches as well as the corrupt SCOTUS. Unless the Senate has at least 67 Democrats that can't be bought and/or fear losing their seat, conviction is impossible. Criminal maybe in 2029 if the AG isn't a Garland clone.

I read the full transcript, hopefully enough NATO countries will have the courage and foresight to proceed on a similar path. Capitulation hasn't worked but it seems the richer and more powerful a country, company, university or politician is, the greater reluctancy there is to be courageous.

I think this will evolve into something similar to what was said five years ago, i.e. Defund ...ICE. That sentiment will intensify during CR negotiations.

The governor and mayor believe in the rule of law. One legal recourse is to persuade their supporters to protest peacefully to avoid further violence against the people they serve. Their other recourse is via the judicial system. That is the best they can do.

it makes sense because you listed potential foreign policy successes. Domestic policies such as affordability will determine whether Trump is deemed a successful president by th majority of Americans.

It is unlikely that the Democrats will ever have enough seats in the Senate to convict. Even if they did some slimy Manchin/Sinema would vote against conviction

Don't forget the Boston Massacre in 1770. British soldiers shot several in a crowd, estimated between 300 and 400, who were harassing them verbally and throwing snowballs and various other projectiles. So we aren't there ... yet

If the FOP truly wanted to be fair they should have added that Trump, Vance, and Noem should have also waited for all the facts to come out before they stated Good was guilty of domestic terrorism.

I wish you would have asked Kevin Davis: If the shots he fired through the passenger's open window as he was standing on the side of the SUV defensible?

Most of the grift and fraud was based on orgs hugely overstanding how many people they actually served. So it's not so much what needy people have been denied, but that the Trump admin will use this fraud to cut benefits in the future under the guise of fighting fraud.

No way this DoJ will press charges. Perhaps the state or a local prosecutor could. The question is will our corrupt SCOTUS allow it?

Ironically, Trump may have just given Putin a method to get effective control Ukraine. I sure hope Ukraine is upping its game to protect Zelenskyy.

Trump's plan, do what I say or we will extract you next. He never considers consequences, (attempt to stop peaceful transfer of power, illegally keeping top secret Intel, tariffs, etc.) because he never has to face them.
January 5, 2026 at 10:39 PM
Could you, or someone else explain how this is different from what George Bush did to Noriega ins 1990. On the face of it, it seems to have the same legal justification.
January 3, 2026 at 5:17 PM
Well, I did a quick analysis of the 2024 Presidential election. I thought that Trump won the majority of votes in the precincts outside of IC, Coralville and NL. I was wrong, Harris/Walz still won ~54% to 46% versus ~ 74% to 26% inside the cities. So I agree with your assessment.

By the way the districts have been drawn, 2, possibly 3, districts would elect Republican candidates. The district including North Liberty would be the closest race.

Admittedly I am not as deep into this issue as some, but I don't recall any of the victims being asked by the press for other names beside Epstein, Maxwell, or former Prince Andrew. At the very least ask the victim being interviewed: did the sexual abuse involve others besides those three?
