This is exactly what happened to me. Derm did not take my scalp psoriasis seriously and I eventually did develop psoriatic arthritis (not all psoriasis will develop into this) but it’s better to get it treated now before it has the chance to progress. Do yourself a favor, get the 2nd opinion.

It’s awful and the industry has enough lobbyists to make sure patent reform for drugs doesn’t happen. In the end, American patients are the ones getting screwed over. Europe doesn’t allow the same patent games that occur over in the states.

Considering they nearly made 100 billion on Humira alone between 2016-2021, ad money is a drop the bucket. The predicted 2024 skyrizi revenue is 10 billion alone. They are not even investing Humira anymore according to their r&d pipeline from Jan 2025.

They wouldn’t charge less. All they care about is making $$$. AbbVie price gouged with Humira for over 20 years. They played the patent game to make sure no biosimilars could come to market.

It is likely Skyrizi (risankizumab-rzaa), the list price for it is $22,383.49 per dose. It also treats psoriatic arthritis, Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis. I think currently that is the most expensive biologic for psoriasis. I take hyrimoz (adalimumab-adaz).

I was really lucky and was able to get diagnosed within a month of seeing rheum, just started a biologic. Hoping for the best.

I think they will accomplish continuing to hallow out these institutions for privatization, which I think is their end goal. It’s a robbery.
